ORG 6499 Week 4 Assignment (Ashford)
All through the world, we encounter differences issues connected to power, status, and also wealth. Various groups have a higher rank and are more privileged as compared to others. In such a diversified social system, the frequent unjust treatment against particular people or societal groups is known as discrimination. Discrimination can affect certain groups based on race, politics, age, ethnicity, gender, or even religion. For instance, discrimination in terms of race is known as racism. Discrimination is mostly as a result of prejudice, which is a pre-established negative attitude or perception. Bias is as a result of a group viewing a particular individual or group as lesser. Specific societal groups have less power as compared to others and are known as dominant groups. A dominant group is the one with enormous privilege, more energy, and higher societal status, which is the opposite for minority groups. This paper discusses discrimination, prejudice, opportunity, and power using one diversity situation or cultural dilemma.
