Ashford LDR 6280 Week 2 Assignment Strategic Leadership Reflection

Strategic Leadership Reflection [WLOs: 1, 2, 3] [CLOs: 1, 2]. Due by Day 7. Prior to completing this assignment, read Chapters 4 through 7 in The Strategic Leader’s Roadmap: 6 Steps for Integrating Leadership and Strategy textbook. In addition, read The Three Strengths of a True Strategic Leader and How to Become a Strategic Leader. Finally, watch Prof Patrick Gibbons on Developing Personal Competence in Strategic Leadership.

Now that we have identified and considered the specific components that contribute to effective strategic leadership approaches, it is helpful to reflect on your own personal strengths and weaknesses with these. This reflection will provide you with a sense of where you may want to further develop yourself professionally. Several of our materials this week discuss ways to strengthen strategic leadership competencies, should you like to pursue further development.

In your paper,

• Analyze examples of effective and ineffective strategic leadership approaches.
• Identify personal strengths and weaknesses with respect to strategic leadership competencies.
• Discuss how you approach leadership strategically.
• Use points of analysis that demonstrate command of the course materials and related research.

The Strategic Leadership Reflection paper

• Will include identification and discussion of your personal strengths and weaknesses with respect to

strategic leadership competencies.

• Is less formal in writing style and scholarship than a traditional academic paper. However, it does need to

draw on course materials and personal research beyond the materials to adequately reflect on the topic. You are not required to incorporate scholarly citations or references. However, the Ashford Writing Center offers resources on Understanding Graduate Level Writing and Gaining Advanced Writing Skills which will assist you professionally. For the full list of writing resources, review the Writing Basics web page.

• Must be 700 to 1000 words (two to three pages) in length (not including title page).
• Must include a separate title page with the following:

o Titleofpaper
o Student’sname
o Coursenameandnumber o Instructor’sname
o Datesubmitted
